Treatment Strategies

At Kinetic Kids, we approach each child as an individual with specific needs that
do not necessarily fit into any cookie cutter mold or cure all. Maximizing a child’s
potential requires a therapist to know and understand that child, including his
strengths and weaknesses, his likes and dislikes, what motivates him, how he
thinks about himself and others, how his fears, behaviors, and apprehensions
manifest themselves,  and it requires a keen understanding of multiple
techniques and methodologies in the appropriate therapeutic discipline.

Kinetic Kids, depending on the discipline of the therapist, and the need of the
child offer a wide array of treatment options. Including those derived from
Greenspan’s floor time, behaviorism, sensory integration, therapeutic listening,
physical modalities, Handwriting Without tears, etc…

Therapy

At present, Kinetic Kids, Inc. has over 15 speech, physical, and occupational
therapists. We always try to maintain at least some excess capacity to
accommodate new families. As our scheduling gets tighter we regularly bring on
additional therapists to meet the therapeutic needs of our families.

Testing
We use a variety of standard and non-standard forms of assessment in order to
accurately determine a child’s ability on a given set of skills.  The tests that we
administer give us the place to begin, but for each child we firmly believe that
there is no limit, no cap, on the progress that can be made, even if it begins with
the smallest of first steps. We all, after all, must start somewhere
.
